st martins food

There are many varied places to eat on St Martin's, from a five course meal at The Tean Restaurant at the St Martin's on the Isle Hotel to scrumptious fish and chips on the beach from Little Arthur.

Eating out

Just across the road from the Churchtown Farm Cottages is Polreath Tea Rooms.  They offer a lovely selection of ice cream, homemade cakes and good quality lunches all cooked from the best ingredients. In the summer they also do evening meals including the very popular 'curry night' on Mondays.

Little Arthur Fish and Chips and Little Arthur Cafe and Bistro do wholesome snacks throughout the day using a lot of produce from their own farm and other Scilly growers. In the evening the cafe is transformed into a cosy bistro (BYO). Fish and chip - eat in or take away -  are served from Adam and Fiona's new barn below Little Arthur.

A 25 minute stroll to the other end of the island takes you to Lower Town and the St Martin's on the Isle Hotel. It has a fantastic restaurant which was awarded a Michelin Star in 2008 and for a less formal but equally enjoyable dining experience there is the hotel bistro. The hotel bar is open to non-residents throughout the day.

Eating in

Our excellent General Stores with it's wide ranging wine list can provide all your food shopping while the Bakery sells pizzas, pies and pasties as well as a delicious selection of bread and cakes.

There are a couple of local fishermen who land their catches on St Martin's and will be more than happy to supply you with fish, crab and lobster.

In the summer fresh vegetables can be bought from several roadside stalls.
